What Is SkinTite?
Tighten up! As the body ages, loose skin and pockets of fat often develop. SkinTite seeks to restore a more youthful contour to the treated areas by tightening skin and when necessary, removing unwanted fat. It combines two powerful treatments, liposuction and radio frequency skin tightening. Results are effective and no downtime is required.
SkinTite is a three-part procedure. Here’s what you can expect from your treatment:
- Anesthesia– We start the procedure with local anesthesia and light sedation. This will keep you comfortable throughout the treatment.
- Lipo Cannula Undermining– Small incision is made in the treatment area and Dr. Epstein inserts a small tube, called a cannula, into the incision and the undersurface of the skin is undermined (separated from the soft tissue below). Excess fat may be gently removed using suction when indicated.
- Radio Frequency Skin Tightening– After liposuction, we perform a radio frequency treatment to encourage skin contraction.
The procedure takes just a little longer than a standard liposuction treatment, but since the skin contracts, results are much more effective than liposuction alone.
After SkinTite- What’s Recovery Like?
You can return home right after your SkinTite treatment and can resume regular activities as soon as you’re ready. Downtime is not needed. If you experience bruising or swelling, it is generally very minor. Many patients return to work the very next day. This is a minimally invasive procedure and leaves no visible scars.
Am I a Good Candidate for SkinTite?
SkinTite works best on patients that have mild to moderate loose, sagging skin. The ideal patient may or may not have unwanted fat. You should be in relatively good health. We recommend this treatment for mildly to moderately aged or inelastic skin. Typically, someone with poor elasticity and excessive sagging skin will you usually require one of Dr. Epstein’s beautiful face or neck lift procedures to obtain the best results.
