Tighter Skin Without Surgery in Chicago, IL – FaceTite
Aging facial and neck skin is a common complaint from both men and women. For years, a surgical face and or neck lift were the only effective solutions to this problem. However, changes in technology have allowed patients to achieve more youthful, firm skin without treatments needing larger incisions. MAE Plastic Surgery offers skin tightening treatment that meets our exacting standards for safety and effectiveness with FaceTite. Call us today and learn more about this innovative solution to cosmetic facial aging.
What Is FaceTite?
FaceTite addresses shifting fat deposits, loosening skin (which causes jowls), double chins, and a loss of facial contours in a different and less invasive manner than the facelift. A facelift resolves these issues by surgically removing fat in some locations and repositioning in others while at the same time excising excess skin, but FaceTite uses radio-frequency energy to shrink fat and tighten the skin. This treatment combines Morpheus8, a device utilizing microneedling and radiofrequency heat, and subdermal radio frequency, which is performed through tiny well placed surgical incisions.
The technology behind FaceTite is known as RFAL or radio-frequency assisted lipolysis. Radio-frequency waves are used to create thermal, or heat, energy. This coagulates and liquefies fat cells and encourages the body to produce additional collagen. These processes lead to tissue remodeling that continues for months after the initial treatment.
FaceTite vs. Surgical Alternatives
FaceTite is less invasive than the traditional surgical lifting procedures such as the facelift. It offers several unique benefits over these invasive surgical treatments.
- Facelift– A facelift will create the most dramatic, longest-lasting results and is still the gold standard for those patients with more than moderate soft tissue sagging and skin laxity, but FaceTite results can give the surgical facelift a run for its money, especially in those with early signs of aging. Patients experience results that may be comparable, and downtime is significantly less. While FaceTite can be done with local anesthesia, it usually is done with light monitored sedation. This innovative approach allows our surgeons to create tiny incisions, much smaller than the incisions required for a full facelift.
- Liposuction (in the neck)– Liposuction is a top-notch treatment for removing fat, but it does not tighten or contract the skin. For patients with skin laxity, RF skin tightening is a better fit than liposuction alone. In addition to fat coagulation, FaceTite and Morpheus8 improve skin tone and firmness for a toned, youthful facial appearance.

If FaceTite isn’t your best option, Dr. Epstein can recommend a treatment that is in line with your aesthetic goals.
FaceTite uses a specially designed cannula outfitted with an RF electrode. This is inserted into the treatment area through a very small incision. RF waves pass through the fatty tissue, coagulating fat and stimulating collagen production. General anesthesia is not always required; we use a local anesthetic, sometimes paired with conscious sedation, for this treatment.
RF tissue firming treats small areas, such as under the chin (double chin), jowls, and lower face sagging. After FaceTite, patients return home almost immediately to recover. Ask a friend or family member to drive you home. Downtime is minimal; many patients return to desk jobs in a day or two.
