Cosmetic Injectables

It’s a fact of life.  As we get older, the years start to show on our faces. Some people develop crow’s feet. Others may see wrinkles across their foreheads or frown lines between their eyebrows. And some begin to notice deep folds and wrinkles forming in the shape of parenthesis on the sides of their nose and mouth. Fortunately, there are non-surgical ways to improve your appearance, turn back the hands of time and help you age gracefully…it’s the beauty of cosmetic injectables!

At Transcend MedSpa, we offer a variety of anti-aging injectable treatments to help give our patients a natural, more youthful, rejuvenated appearance. While some injectable procedures rely on filler materials to smooth out wrinkles, regain volume, improve the facial structure and create a younger look, others target the muscles that actually cause wrinkles and lines to appear on the face.

When it comes to injectables, there’s often confusion as to the role that each one plays.  The following information should help clarify which injectable treatment might be best for you.

BOTOX Cosmetic

BOTOX treats what are known as dynamic wrinkles – wrinkles caused by squinting or frowning, which require muscle contraction. Botox is injected under the skin to relax these muscles, which help to soften facial lines and wrinkles (specifically, the creases along the forehead, the frown lines between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet around the eyes).  It can also help diminish vertical lines that form above the lip.  Botox is one of our most popular injectables and is effective for approximately four months.

Juvederm

Juvederm is a gel filler that instantly diminishes the wrinkles and folds that look like parentheses along the side of the nose and mouth, as well as vertical lines above the upper lip.  It’s also ideal for lip augmentation and restoring volume and fullness to the face. The results are not only instant, but they are extremely smooth and natural looking. Comprised of a substance that is found in all living cells, Juvederm can last for up to 6 months or longer.

Radiesse

Radiesse is an injectable filler unlike any other treatment on the market today. Not only does it safely fill and correct nasolabial folds (smile lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth), but it also beautifully restores the natural contour of the cheeks and face. But, what makes this product so unique is that it actually works with the body to stimulate and grow new collagen.  Even more exciting…the results are natural, immediate and long lasting!  Radiesse typically lasts a year, which is longer than any other fillers available today.

Restylane and Perlane

Restylane and Perlane, made by the same company, are both dermal fillers that replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to the skin.  The hyaluronic acid found in both products help smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as the lines from the nose to the corners of the moth (often called “puppet lines”). Restylane has also been used to enhance the lip line by adding fullness and volume to the lips. Both products, which are FDA approved, have been found to last at least six months

DOT Laser Therapy

Dot Laser Therapy is the most advanced laser available and can make you look 5-7 years younger!  Not only does it smooth wrinkles and reverse the appearance of aged and sun-damaged skin, but it also improves texture and laxity by inducing immediate skin tightening and the stimulation of new collagen growth.  Transcend is the only MedSpa on Chicago’s North Shore to offer this unique and highly effective treatment.

LipoSonic Therapy

This unique procedure combines LipoDissolve “fat melting” treatments with the added benefit of ultrasound to improve upon the latest technology in non-surgical fat removal. After injecting the LipoDissolve formula into the undesired fat deposits, ultrasound is utilized to evenly distribute the fluid throughout the tissue.  This initiates a process during which fat is melted away and the skin contracts to build a smoother, tighter surface.  LipoSonic Therapy has been shown to be successful in 95% of our patients.

Transcend Facelift

Using a variety of youth enhancing injectables (such as Botox) and FDA approved wrinkle fillers (including Juvederm, Perlane, Radiesse and Restylane) the Transcend Facelift creates beautiful, natural results that are astounding!  This “liquid facelift” is quite popular among Transcend clients and can last for up to a year.

Rejuvetan

The latest in airbrush tanning solutions, Rejuvetan offers a natural looking tan without the harmful exposure to sunlight or the damaging effects of tanning beds.  Rejuvetan products feature natural skincare ingredients that enhance the skin’s beauty, while improving its overall health and vibrancy.

Sonic Therapy

This therapeutic ultrasound procedure provides multiple benefits for healing after surgery including faster recovery with less bruising, decreased pain and swelling, and better overall surgical results.  It also lowers the risk of post-operative complications and can prevent unwanted scarring by reducing depressions and unevenness in areas that have been treated with liposuction. It can also decrease capsular contractures with breast augmentation surgery.
